The sisters of Sigma Phi Omega are strongly committed to serving the community. Our official National Philanthropy focus is domestic violence. Every year, a week in October is dedicated to help promote our cause. During SAFE Week, our members can be seen on Trousdale Parkway passing out informational brochures and purple ribbons. Donations are also collected at this time and is used to benefit a local organization.
Although our national philanthropy is to raise awareness and promote the prevention of domestic violence, we also participate in a number of other philanthropy events throughout the year. Other events and organizations our chapter participates in include:
SAFE Week against Domestic Violence
Los Angeles AIDS Walk
Chinese Firecracker Run 5/10K
"Say No to Drugs" Race Marathon
Children's Hospital of Los Angeles
USC Trojan Parents Weekend
USC Tailgate Waste Management Team
Los Angeles Toy Drives
Zeta Phi "Skid" Rho Breaks World Record
Heal the Bay Beach Clean Up
Take Back the Night
Swim with Mike
Day of the Child
USC Friends & Neighbors Day
Reading to Kids
... and more!
Sigmas are proud to serve the communities which we live in. Service is one of the main aspects of our sisterhood, and we are always eager to contribute and make a difference.
